8 Most Common Issues With Gates

Most issues stem from safety edge batteries needing changing, vegetation growth and accidental damage. We are here to help if you can't resolve the issue yourself.

Click here for help to change your safety edge batteries.

1. Complete system failure

This is often caused by power supply issues, blown fuses or component failure.  Check breakers have not tripped and if you feel confident, check the fuses on the control board. Change the safety edge transmitter batteries. Contact us for further assistance.

2. Remote Control Not Working

Battery failures, signal interference, or receiver faults can stop remotes from functioning. Try replacing the battery, reprogramming to the receiver or ultimately fob replacement.

3. Gate Opens But Won’t Close

This can result from safety photocell beams being blocked or faulty. Change the safety edge transmitter batteries. Wipe the covers clean, contact us for further assistance.

4. Unusual Noises During Operation

Grinding or squeaking sounds often indicate worn hinges, rollers, or a lack of lubrication. We always recommend regular lubrication with a thin oil.

5. Sagging or Misaligned Gates

Gate alignment issues can be caused by ground movement or hinge wear. Most hinging gates have adjustable hinges which can resolve misalignment.

6. Intermittent Operation

Electrical faults, loose wiring, or control board issues can cause gates to work sporadically. Change the safety edge transmitter batteries. Our technicians perform detailed diagnostics and repairs.

7. Obstacle Detection Malfunctions

Faulty sensors or incorrect positioning may prevent gates from closing. Change the safety edge transmitter batteries. If the battery change hasn't helped contact us for further support.

8. Solar Gate Power Problems

Low sunlight or battery faults can interrupt gate operation. We provide battery checks, solar panel servicing, and upgrades for a reliable energy supply.
